I am finding it is hard to get and shoot every single week! Especially when it’s not a jobs that i’m meeting a client for! But it is already pushing me to think outside the box. When I first took these pictures, I had no intent on using them for the weekly project. But as I got thinking more about them, I realized they fit in perfect. Horses communicate so much with their ears. As an equine photographer, I’m always looking for ears forward. But when I took these, not once did those mama ears come forward to focus on me or anything else going on. Her ears stayed like… Keep Reading
Laketown Engagements | Kirsten + Dalton
Kirsten and Dalton’s pictures are some of my favorite! I took their Laketown engagements last summer. As I was driving into Laketown, I kept seeing gorgeous fields full of round bales (which I LOVE). I had been wanting to to pictures with round bales for forever. When I got to their house, I asked if they knew anyone who owned those fields. Turns out they did, and we ended their session in a gorgeous hay field! I love it when couples go with my creative ideas, but i also love it when the location means something to them! We started the session at a little shed at their home. This… Keep Reading
Equine Project 52 | Water
This year i am participating in an equine project 52 contest. Every week me and other equine photographers have a certain word or phrase, and go out and take pictures that have this theme in mind. The best part, it’s horse related. It’s an opportunity to push myself and think of new things. I started a little late, but i’m loving it already! Here is what I got for week 5 – water. Equine Project 52 | Water Mr. Waylon is a star model around here. You can see a bridal session I did with him here! So glad my friends have pretty horses I can take pictures of!
Ranch Engagements | Matt + Hayley
These ranch engagements were almost a year ago! So crazy how time flies! This was my first session after McCoy joined our family! We had planned on doing this session about a month earlier, but McCoy decided to join our family 3 weeks early (the day before we were scheduled to do pictures!). I think it ended up working out perfect. It gave things a little more time to get green and full of life after a long winter! Graduation Pictures – Karsyn
Karsyn is one of the kindest, sweetest, most hard working girls that I have met! I was so excited to get to take her graduation pictures! Karsyn graduated with a Law and Constitutional Studies and History degree from Utah State University last spring! We headed out to Antelope Island (which happens to be about 5 min. from her parents house!) to take her graduation pictures. It was a windy day (which kept the bugs away!!) and we had the most gorgeous light. It had rained all morning, so we had fun cloud cover which brought out all the amazing colors at lady finger point. Congrats Karsyn, you are amazing!! Karsyn Graduation… Keep Reading
