I’ve been looking forward to this shoot for a while! If these kids look familiar, it’s because i did family pictures for the whole family in June! They wanted some pictures of the kids with their horses as well, so I went to their house and took some roping pictures. These kids sure know how to rope and ride! I’m so impressed, and wish I could rope like them when I was their age! After roping we headed out to an alfalfa field above Hyrum Dam to get some portraits with their horses! We ended up getting the most beautiful sunset as a backdrop to our pictures at the end… Keep Reading
Jessie | Equine Bridals
I am so excited that I can finally share these Equine Bridals!!! Jessie and RJ are getting married today, which means I don’t have to keep these a secret any longer! I’ve been dying to share these pictures. Jessie is such a stunning bride. We headed out to the Smith barn in Lewiston to get some rustic elegant bridals with Jessie and her horse Marley. This is one of my favorite places to shoot, so many different options all in one spot! We started without Marley to get some detail shots of Jessie in her dress, but quickly added in Marley. Lee’s Marketplace made a gorgeous floral wreath and bouquet… Keep Reading
Melissa + Jake | Wanship Engagements
When Melissa messaged me on Facebook about doing her engagements, I was so excited! It was so fun getting to know her over a couple months as we emailed back and forth ideas for picture day. It felt like I already knew her before I even met her! Melissa and Jake met at the Blue Sky Ranch where they both worked. Jake is the farm manager and Melissa was a wrangler. They’ve been together for two years now and will be getting married at the most aaaaamazing barn at the Blue Sky Ranch in October! We met on a spring afternoon for their Wanship engagements at the Blue Sky Ranch (this place… Keep Reading
Horse Photographer | Styled Shoot
I had the amazing opportunity this week to set up a styled shoot for 15 amazing photographers in northern Utah. Twice a month we get together and take turns planning and styling a shoot. It’s an opportunity for us to try new lenses, ask each other questions, learn from each other, and have a good time! I decided I would give them a little glimpse of what it’s like to be a horse photographer! Our location was the amazing Smith barn in Lewiston, UT. I styled three different shoots, all including horses, to go on at the same time. We broke into 3 smaller groups, and rotated through the different… Keep Reading
Shyann | Rodeo Senior Pictures
A girl and her horse. There’s not a bond that I love to photograph more. When Shyann contacted me about taking her senior pictures this spring, and wanted to include her horse in them as well, I was so excited! Her horse, Bud, is a big, sweet, sorrel gelding. He had the most curious look the whole time, and almost always had his ear forward. Even when we let him eat his ears were up ready for pictures! Shyann competes in barrel racing with Bud in the Idaho High School Rodeo Association. I love when senior incorporate what they love into pictures, so we of course did some rodeo senior pictures… Keep Reading
