This year has been a big year for Lauren Anderson Photography. I have always loved taking pictures, but this year I decided to operate as a business and offer photography to anyone wanting senior, family, and wedding photography. Offering wedding photography was a big decision for me. I know how important those images are, and how they will be looked at for years and years to come. Not wanting to jump right in without some experience, I started second shooting for a couple of local photographers and planning styled shoots to help build my experience.
This styled shoot at Antelope Island is something I have been planning and dreaming about for a long time. I wanted a bride, with a horse, on a beach. I had the horse part covered (we used my horse, Copper) and my friend Kate graciously offered to be my model. Since Utah is a little lacking on the beach options I thought Antelope Island would be a good place to get a similar look. The day couldn’t have turned out better! I ran home during my lunch break to give Copper a bath, and met my friend Carrie there to check out the amazing flower crown and wreath she had made for the shoot. Carrie is so talented, and made my vision of the flowers a reality! Later that day I met up with Kate and Tiffany Johnson at Tiffany’s studio for hair and makeup. I am seriously so lucky to be surround by such talented people! We didn’t have a ton of time between getting off work and when we needed to be to Antelope Island so it was great to have two people working on hair and makeup at the same time! My amazing husband had the horses all ready, and we all made the drive down to Antelope Island.
When we got to Antelope Island, the lady at the gate warned us that the bugs where bad. Boy was she right! Luckily they weren’t as bad once we got off the road and closer to the water. We had some amazing light, and Kate was the most gorgeous model! It was a ton of fun, and I was so happy with the results (as you will see with the picture overload below)! I had the best team that helped turn my dream into a reality, and I couldn’t have done it without each of them!
