With the Utah Reined Cow Horse Association NRCHA futurity and horse show coming up this weekend I wanted to share pictures from the show in July! We showed at Utah State University Equine Center – and it was amazing! The ground is perfect there and you can slide for miles. It made taking pictures so much fun! I love the mountains in the background of all the pictures.
About the National Reined Cow Horse Association:
“The National Reined Cow Horse Association was formed in 1949, with the goal of preserving and educating the public about the rich history of this traditional horsemanship. The NRCHA is responsible for promoting the sport and ensuring high standards of competition. The organization was originally called the California Reined Cow Horse Association. Despite the name change, the association has continued to celebrate the early California traditions of highly-trained working cow horses and today, 64 years after its creation, continues to work to keep the vaquero tradition alive in today’s equine industry.”
About the Utah Reined Cow Horse Association:
“We pride ourselves in being a friendly organization. We welcome participants from all equine disciplines who want to learn and show reined cow horses. URCHA offers a variety of classes, from the beginning Rookie class to our full fence and boxing classes. No matter what your experience and ability, we have a class for you!”
One of our main goals is to ensure we develop our youth. We start with our short stirrup class (can be a lead line class) were every participant is a winner, and work up to our youth boxing and bridle classes. This is a great way to get your children or grandchildren involved with reined cow horses.
