Cowgirl Senior Pictures – with horses!
It doesn’t get any better than a girl with her horse. Make that 5 horses! And not just any 5. These are the prettiest group of horses, that would make anyone jealous! (I know i am!) Lexi is a senior this year at Mountain Crest High School. She competes on the high school rodeo team, in the breakaway and team roping. This girl loves to rope!
We had originally scheduled Lexi’s senior pictures for October. We had just finished up family pictures with he cute family at a gorgeous spot in Tony’s Grove. Purple is Lexi’s favorite color so we knew we had to make it back to this spot before the purple wildflowers were gone. Knowing we had a short window we came back a couple days later with all her horses.
The key to pictures with horses is patience! I got asked a lot after I posted the first picture below with all 5 horses how I pulled it off. First – Lexi has pretty easy horses to be around. All 5 had great manners and stood still without too much coaxing (good ol’ rope horses). Second – I had a lot of help. I bring my husband to every horse session so he can position the horses just where I want. This allows Lexi to stand just where I wanted her without having to worry about her horses. Third – More help. Lexi’s sister was behind the scenes getting the horses ears up! These rope horses sure stood great, but nothing seemed to get their attention and ears up until we brought out a flag. That got their attention!
